Home Notes

A Parent Teacher Communication App for Special Education

The daily folder sheet, done on your phone: tap what happened, it reaches the family by email, they reply and every note is kept.

One note, no account. Free for teachers and therapists.

Try a Home Note

The daily sheet as taps. Fill one for a student; nothing is saved anywhere until you choose to keep it.

A first name or a nickname is enough. Never a last name here.

Today's Mood
What We Worked On
Meals and Snacks
Bathroom
Sensory and Regulation

Goes to the family exactly as written.

What happens next: you see the note as a family sees it. To send real notes you sign up with your email; what you tapped here is waiting in your account. Students you add in Home Notes are free, with no cap.

The note as taps on a phone

What the Family Gets

An email each school day with the note itself: mood, what we worked on, meals, bathroom, how the day settled, a win and your line as you wrote it. They reply by replying. On Friday, the week in one note.

Who It Is For

Self-contained and resource teachers plus SLPs and OTs who see students on a schedule. Paras add to the day's note soon.

What It Is Not

Beacon writes nothing to families on its own; your words go as written, and the one Friday line it can draft if you ask is yours to change before it goes. A student is a first name. Never sold and never shared outside the people you invite.

It Grew From a Free Sheet

Home Notes is the free parent-teacher communication log teachers already print, as taps. The sheet stays free. The scan-ready version comes with the pack.

Messaging Apps and a Daily Note

Messaging apps carry messages and photos for a whole class. A Home Note is one student's day, sent as a record the family can keep and a teacher can print for a meeting.

Price

Free for teachers and therapists during the beta, with no limit on students. Plans come before the public launch.

Questions About Home Notes

Is it free for families?

Yes. Every family member reads and replies free, always. Teachers and therapists are free during the beta too.

Does it replace the folder sheet?

It is the same sheet, done by taps and sent by email the same day. The paper sheet stays free. A filled paper sheet can be photographed into Home Notes.

What about emergencies?

Home Notes is not for emergencies. For anything urgent, families call the school; every note email says so.

What is kept, and who can read it?

A student's first name, the notes, replies and read times. The teacher and the family members the teacher invited read them. Never sold and never shared outside the people the teacher invites.

Does Beacon write to families for you?

Only one line, and only if you ask. On Friday you can tap Draft With Beacon for the This Week line; it suggests one from that week's notes and you can change or clear it before Friday's note goes. Everything else goes out exactly as you wrote it.
