Sleep Routine Builder
Send home a bedtime routine that fits the student
A family asks about bedtime and it is nowhere in the IEP, but the tiredness is in your classroom by 10am. Describe the sensory profile and Beacon builds a sequence you can hand the family, in language written for them to follow at home.
How it works
- 1.Share the basics. Age, and what bedtime looks like for them now.
- 2.Add the sensory fit. What calms them, and what winds them up instead.
- 3.Get the routine. A step by step sequence written for the family to follow, not for your notes.
Frequently asked questions
- A family asked me about sleep. Is this in my scope?
- Sharing a sensory-informed routine is within scope for most classroom and related-service roles. Diagnosing a sleep disorder is not, and a persistent sleep problem belongs with the student's physician. Beacon writes the routine and stays on the supports side of that line.
- Will the family actually be able to follow it?
- It is written for them: short steps, plain language, no jargon, and nothing that needs equipment a family would have to buy.
- Why does sleep show up in my classroom?
- A student who slept badly arrives dysregulated and with no reserve, and the first transition of the day is usually where it shows. Helping the routine at home is often the cheapest classroom intervention available.
- Can I send it home as it is?
- Read it first, then send it. It comes out as something that can go on a fridge rather than a report, so most of the time it goes out unchanged.
- Is it free and do I need an account?
- You can build one routine free with no account. A free account gives you one per tool, Standard gives 3 a month, and Plus or Annual is unlimited.
